The Principals of Kinetic OHS are hands-on individuals with substantial field and project management experience. All of our employees have a background in occupational health & safety/occupational hygiene, are passionate about their work, and have chosen the OH&S field as their lifelong career.


Harvey Wong, CRSP, ROHT – Director/Principal Consultant

Harvey is a graduate of the 1989 BCIT OH&S program.  Harvey is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), a Registered Occupational Hygiene Technologist (ROHT), and is the current Treasurer and Director (ROHT – West) for the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists (CRBOH).

Harvey has been in the OH&S consulting industry since 1990 and thrives in the role as a consultant.  For the past 23 years, he has inspected and assessed a wide variety of workplaces, performed and consulted on many routine and unique/specialized occupational hygiene projects, and is very knowledgeable in asbestos, lead, confined space, hazardous materials, occupational hygiene and safety issues.  He is also our master bulk analyst with over 23 years of experience analyzing asbestos bulk samples.  He is currently working towards his Bachelor of Science degree and hopefully challenge the CIH/ROH examinations in the near future.

Ramin Hamidnejad, CRSP – Director/Principal Consultant

Ramin is a graduate of the 2006 BCIT OH&S Certificate program.  Ramin is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and is working towards his Canadian Health & Safety Consultant (CHSC) designation.  He also holds an Electronics Engineering diploma.

Ramin has been in the OH&S consulting industry since 2006 specializing in hazardous materials, worker exposure monitoring, contract specifications and general safety issues.  He has inspected and assessed a wide variety of residential, commercial and industrial workplaces and is very knowledgeable in asbestos, lead, and general safety issues.

Karen Soothill, B. Sc. – Laboratory Manager

Karen Soothill graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Simon Fraser University in 1998.  Karen is certified as a teacher and has been a member of the British Columbia College of Teachers since 2000.

Karen has had extensive work experience in a variety of laboratory settings.  She has worked in a pharmaceutical laboratory, researching methods to improve the delivery of drugs to target sites in the human body.  In the quality control lab of a brewery, she independently researched the use of methods such as PCR for rapid microbe detection in beer.  In the microbiology laboratory of an environmental consulting firm, she set up and monitored bioassays and analyzed water and sediment samples.  Karen has also taught Biology and Math in secondary schools in Vancouver and Langley.  After starting a family and living in Australia for three years, Karen decided to return to the laboratory and has worked over three years in the OH&S industry.  She is the senior analyst of asbestos bulk samples using Polarized Light Microscopy.  She also performs fungal direct air and bulk exams, for the enumeration and identification of fungal particles to genus or group.

Mehdi Dastyari B.Sc. – OHS Consultant

Mehdi graduated with Bachelor of Computer Software in 2004. Mehdi holds an AHERA certificate and he is currently working towards his OH&S certificate in BCIT.

Mehdi has 4+ years of Business System Analyst experience in Information Technology and 6 years of experience as a Project Manager. He is successful at developing product road maps and leading cross-functional software teams from prototype to release, and directed a team of up to 15 people in case of planning and managing time, cost, risk and budget for designing and implementing software applications in manufacture and governmental company.

Samantha Martin, B.Sc. – OHS Consultant

Samantha Graduated with a Bachelor of Environmental Science Degree with a concentration in Biology from Carleton University in 2013, and has her Occupational First Aid Level 3(OFA3). She is working towards becoming a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP). 

Prior to entering the OH&S industry Samantha spent a year working in the forestry industry, as a forest engineer and conservation consultant. Where she performed species inventory/ health surveys and designed cut blocks to have the best economic return while protecting environmentally sensitive areas. Samantha has spent time working in fisheries industry where she monitored catch quotas, catch locations, and proper offload procedures.
