Our philosophy is to provide the best service and quality of work in a timely and cost-effective manner. Kinetic OHS is locally owned by business partners, Mr. Harvey Wong and Mr. Ramin Hamidnejad. Both are safety professionals (CRSP) and have over 30 years of collective industry experience.
CRSP, ROHT | Director/Principal Consultant
Harvey is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), a Registered Occupational Hygiene Technologist (ROHT), and was the ROHT Director (2011-2017) for the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists (CRBOH). Harvey is a graduate of the BCIT OH&S program.
Harvey has been in the OH&S consulting industry since 1990 and has assessed a wide variety of workplaces ranging from residential to industrial facilities. Harvey has consulted on many routine and unique/specialized projects, and is very knowledgeable in asbestos, lead, hazardous materials, confined spaces, occupational hygiene and general safety issues. He is also our senior air and bulk asbestos analyst with over 25 years of experience.
Ramin is a graduate of the BCIT OH&S Certificate program and has been working in the OH&S industry since 2006. Ramin is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and is working towards his Canadian Health & Safety Consultant (CHSC) designation. He also holds an Electronics Engineering diploma.
Ramin specializes in hazardous materials, worker exposure monitoring, contract specifications and general safety issues. He has inspected and assessed a wide variety of residential, commercial and industrial workplaces. Ramin is a Qualified Professional (QP) for the City of Vancouver to complete declarations for salvage and abatement of commercial, industrial and residential buildings prior to demolition.
Samantha graduated with a Bachelor of Environmental Science Degree with a concentration in Biology from Carleton University in 2013 and is working towards becoming a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).
Prior to entering the OH&S industry Samantha worked as a conservation consultant and an environmental scientist in the forestry and fisheries industries. Samantha has been with Kinetic OHS since 2015. She oversees large scale hazardous material abatement projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Samantha is proficient in conducting site inspections, assessments, surveys and hazardous materials awareness training.
Mehdi has a Computer Software degree and holds an AHERA Building Inspector certificate. He has been in the OHS consulting industry for 5 years. Prior to entering the OH&S industry he had 6 years of experience as a Project Manager in the software industry.
Mehdi started working at Kinetic OHS in 2015 as an OHS technologist and has since worked his way to becoming a project manager. As a project manager, Mehdi manages various residential, commercial and Industrial hazardous materials projects. He is well experienced in asbestos, lead, and hazardous materials surveys.

Jennifer is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), holds a BSc in Biology from the University of Victoria and a MSc in Botany from the University of Manitoba. She has over 18 years of experience in health and safety consulting in British Columbia and has presented at AIHce conferences.
Jennifer has conducted risk assessments of various different hazards (biological, chemical and physical) in many different workplaces ranging from schools, offices and hospitals to oil refineries, grain elevators and sawmills. Areas of particular interest include mould investigations, indoor air quality, confined spaces, exposure assessments, and challenging cases.
B.Sc | Laboratory Manager
Since graduating from Simon Fraser University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Karen Soothill has worked in a variety of laboratory settings, using an array of experimental techniques. She has researched methods to improve the delivery of drugs to target sites in the body, investigated the use of methods such as PCR for the rapid detection of microbes in beer, and set up and monitored environmental bioassays.
Karen has worked in the OH&S industry since 2012. She has been working as a lab analyst in the Kinetic OHS in-house laboratory since 2014. Karen is experienced in analyzing asbestos bulk samples using Polarized Light Microscopy and conducting direct air and bulk exams for the enumeration and identification of fungal particles.

Katie graduated with a Bachelor degree in Environmental Science from Guelph University in 2002, majoring in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. Prior to laboratory work, Katie conducted contamination studies, Phase I and II environmental site assessments, groundwater monitoring and hazardous materials sampling programs.
Katie has been working as a lab analyst in the Kinetic OHS in-house laboratory since 2018. Katie performs asbestos bulk sample analysis using Polarized Light Microscopy.

Ramin is a certified occupational health and safety practitioner with over 7 years of experience in the hazardous materials industry.
As a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology’s occupational health and safety diploma program, Ramin is responsible for field sampling of asbestos, lead, and mould, as well as monitoring and overseeing of abatement projects. Additinaly Ramin ensurs the safe completion of all projects, reporting legally defensible data, and writing risk assessment and health and safety documents such as exposure control plans, respiratory protection programs and safe work procedures.

Michael has been working with Kinetic OHS since 2017 as an OHS Technologist. Prior to entering the OHS industry, Michael completed a Diploma in Digital Design and Development from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in 2016. He currently holds an AHERA Building Inspector certificate.
Michael conducts air monitoring for asbestos and lead as well as sampling of hazardous material surveys from residential and commercial spaces. He is also experienced in creating and maintaining asbestos inventory databases for numerous clients. Michael is in charge of updating and managing the Kinetic OHS website.

Jeff graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health from BCIT in 2019 and is a certified AHERA Building Inspector.
Jeff has prior knowledge and training in conducting site inspections relating to public health and hazardous materials. He is a new member of the Kinetic OHS team and conducts air monitoring for asbestos/lead as well as performing hazardous material surveys for residential and commercial spaces. Jeff is also proficient at analyzing air samples for asbestos and other fibres using the NIOSH 7400 analytical method.

Desiree graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies and Geography from Queen’s University in 2016. Desiree also has a diploma in Analytical Chemistry from BCIT (2020) and is a certified AHERA Building Inspector.
Desiree is a new member of the Kinetic OHS team. She conducts air monitoring for asbestos/lead and hazardous materials surveys for residential and commercial spaces. She is also proficient at analyzing air samples for asbestos and other fibres using the NIOSH 7400 analytical method. Desiree’s background in analytical chemistry is an asset when interpreting analytical results and when selecting the most appropriate analytical method for occupational hygiene sampling.
Aida has been at Kinetic OHS since 2017. She is the office assistant and performs front desk duties. Aida greets clients, accepts drop-off sample submissions for laboratory analysis and receives and prepares deliveries. She also answers, screens and directs calls and takes messages.
Ani has been at Kinetic OHS since 2017. She is the office administrator and performs bookkeeping duties. She maintains accurate books on accounts payable, receivable, payroll and reconciliations. Ani maintains a working relationship with our clients and assists them with their inquiries.
Helen has been at Kinetic OHS since November 2018. She is the administrative assistant and provides office support. Helen performs public relations duties and liaises with clients on a regular basis. Helen also responds to public inquiries and coordinates correspondences within the office.
